Characterized by the most rainfall, this is the most biodiverse area of Sri Lanka, with many endemic plants and animals inhabiting the rainforests and surrounding lands. Take it all in trekking or white water rafting. Get a bit of history learning about the introduction to Buddhism into the culture, or tour a tea plantation and sample the varieties.
